The editor of The Urban Transportation Monitor is
Dr. Daniel B. Rathbone, Ph.D.,
P.E. Dr. Rathbone has 32 years of experience in transportation planning,
transit, and traffic engineering. He was an associate professor of Urban
Systems Engineering for eight years at George Mason University, Fairfax
VA, before leaving to pursue consulting opportunities. Dr. Rathbone
is principal author of more than 70 technical reports and papers and
president of the consulting firm, DBR & Associates. A registered Professional
Engineer in the State of Texas and South Africa, Dr. Rathbone is a member
of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the American Society
of Civil Engineers. He has chaired and served on numerous transportation-related
committees of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Transportation
Research Board.
